Introduction
Rossall School is a co-educational day and boarding independent school, located between Cleveleys and Fleetwood in Lancashire. Founded in 1844, it occupies a beautiful 161-acre estate next to Rossall Beach. [1]
The Junior School curriculum is broad and extensive, rooted in staff’s efforts to connect pupils with the world around them. Through the Primary Years Programme (PYP), children develop into fast and effective learners who make the most out of the school’s unique approach towards educating, centred on constructivism.
Whether that be performance art or sports, pupils engage in exciting activities after classes and develop further skills for the benefit of their all-round growth. The Prep and Senior schools share a number of facilities, hence pupils have access to a 25-metre pool, a full-size AstroTurf and two theatres, among others. [2]
The most recent ISI report characterised the school as a place where children work both collaboratively as well as individually, producing excellent results in the process. The PYP curriculum and dedicated teaching staff members ensure that pupils adopt a spirit of enquiry and leave the school’s stimulating environment with a clear understanding of their strengths and purpose.
