Introduction

Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls, commonly referred to as MIGSG, was founded over 25 years ago. Recently rated as Outstanding by OFSTED, it is noted for providing a purposeful learning environment to bright Muslim girls from the area, as well as for its achievements, such as the recent 100% GCSE pass rate. [1]

The curriculum broadly reflects the school’s aims to cater for girls’ academic enthusiasm and ambitions at the highest standard. Targeted yet varied, it features a number of relevant disciplines, including design technology, science, humanities and MFL, and actively prepares students for the demands of higher education.

The school’s enrichment programme further enhances girls’ learning capacity, boasting an array of opportunities for personal and social growth. One of its most popular features is the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which helps maximise the cohort’s resilience and problem-solving skills through various challenges and adventures. [2]

Promoting strong religious beliefs, the school’s philosophy centres on putting faith in action and hence provides girls with numerous opportunities for charitable work. By taking part in these initiatives, students develop compassion and a genuine awareness of the needs of others, flourishing in the areas of emotional development while practising humility and self-discipline. [3]

MIGSG is a proud member of the Manchester Islamic Educational Trust, and as such, it makes active contributions to the rapidly changing landscape of modern society. Its primary objective is to foster a more equitable and harmonious world where individuals from this religious background can flourish, embracing not only their Muslim heritage but also their British identity.

Why do some of the recommendations above show me grammar school papers?

The main difference between independent and grammar school papers is the question format. Independent schools usually assess with standard format questions, which means students need to write out full answers. Grammar schools usually use multiple-choice format questions.

While Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent school, they actually use the grammar school (multiple-choice) format for some of their exams, which is why they are included in the recommendations above.

Our practice tests aim to show what sort of questions were included in Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls past papers. The information provided about Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls was believed to be correct at the time of publishing. However, please be aware of future changes. We advise you to contact the school directly if you are unsure of anything. School contact details are provided within the post.
