We’ve just released five new practice tests:
11+ Dame Alice Owen’s School – Practice Test 1
11+ Dame Alice Owen’s School – Practice Test 2

11+ Dame Alice Owen’s School – Practice Test 5
They are for students seeking 11+ entry to Dame Alice Owen’s School (DAO).
What is the format of the DAO 11+ Exam?
Dame Alice Owen’s School is one of the most in-demand schools in the country, with a high competition ratio of applicants to places available.
The school’s 11+ Exam has two parts:
- Part 1 consists of a Verbal Reasoning exam created by GL Assessment. The test is 50 minutes long.
- Part 2 consists of Maths and English exams. These tests are created by the school and are each one hour long
Only the 325 highest scoring students in Part 1 will be invited back to take the Part 2 test.
This is important to note as the Part 1 Verbal Reasoning test acts as a filter so it’s vital your child scores highly in order to be invited back.
The Part 2 test will help determine your child’s position within the top 325 candidates for the 200 places available.
How will these practice tests benefit my child?
We’ve created these new practice tests to provide your child with accurate familiarisation ahead of the Dame Alice exam. We’ve thus covered all the elements that appear in both parts of the examination.
Each practice test includes Part 1 (Verbal Reasoning) and Part 2 (Maths & English), just like the actual DAO exam.
We’ve made sure to replicate key details such as the format, number of questions, timings and layout of the exam. Separate answer response sheets are provided for the Verbal Reasoning test, which is multiple-choice in the GL style.
For Part 2 English, we’ve included detailed mark schemes for both the comprehension and writing sections so you can easily assess your child’s work and see what needs to be included to gain each mark. In an entrance test as competitive as this, it’s worth paying attention to even the smallest details.
Across the five practice tests, we’ve covered all the key question types that have come up recently. Furthermore, they are all pitched at accurate, exam level difficulty, providing excellent insight into your child’s current level and allowing you to benchmark their progress from now until the exam.
