Basic information: Guildford High School is an independent day school for girls in Guildford, Surrey. Founded in 1888, it boasts a wide selection of modern sporting facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and a fitness suite. [1]

Curriculum: Inquisitive and intellectually independent girls extensively benefit from the Guildford High offering, as the curriculum and teaching are tailored to meet their individual preferences. Mandarin, computer science, French and humanities are just a few of the programme’s features, complementing the overarching provision in the Junior School that actively prepares children for their senior years.

Co-curricular: Enrichment activities range from ballet, crafts and fencing to judo, chess and LAMDA, featuring over 90 clubs that inspire and challenge children to expand their abilities. The scope of the programme extends even further, introducing trips and excursions into pupils’ routine through which they experientially learn about the world beyond school. [2]

ISI Inspection reports: During their most recent ISI inspection, the school met all national standards for quality education, including the moral, social and personal aspects of pupils’ development. The community was characterised as secure and grounded in mutual respect, assisting the all-round growth of children in parallel with their academic progress. [3]

Guildford High’s ethos is deeply rooted in the culture of excellence and openness pervading the school’s community. A positive attitude in the face of difficulty is strongly encouraged, hence girls access adulthood with an awareness of their strengths and high levels of self-respect, confidently taking risks on their path to success.
