King’s St Alban’s 8 Plus (8+) Admissions


The first thing you need to do in order to start the admissions process is to register your child with the school. The registration fee of £40 is non-refundable. 


Following the submission of the form and the payment of the fee, your child will be invited to attend a Taster session. Entrance tests are typically held in February prior to the September entry, assessing your child’s skills across three areas. 


Please note that, to accept an offer of a place, you will be asked to pay an acceptance deposit, refunded when your child leaves the school.

King’s St Alban’s 8 Plus (8+) Exam Format


The King’s St Alban’s 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:


  • English (multiple-choice)
  • Mathematics (multiple-choice)
  • Verbal Reasoning (multiple-choice)


The English assessment is in the multiple-choice format, examining comprehension skills, including inference and grammar.


The multiple-choice Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.


The Verbal Reasoning section is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
