Introduction

Basic information: Established in 1887, Hymers College is co-ed independent day school in Kingston upon Hull. Currently, it is one of the best performing facilities in the county and has been featured among the top 10 schools in the north of England. [1]

Curriculum: The Junior division centres its academic and non-academic efforts on introducing pupils to a wide range of disciplines, including science, RE, art, technology and drama. The syllabus is, therefore, characterised by both breadth and depth, providing children with a firm grounding well ahead their senior years.

Sports: The rich selection of sporting activities at Hymers includes swimming, rigby, athletics, cross country and many other pursuits, ensuring children’s proper physical development and overall welfare. Junior sports teams regularly achieve successes in fixtures, in recent years winning the Girls’ North East of England HMC Athletics competition and the U11 HMC Netball Tournament.

Continually improving its facilities and provision since its conception, Hymers College features a friendly ethos that has a lot to offer. Pupils are encouraged to act responsibly and approach interactions with empathy, taking part in the interconnected world with high levels of awareness and a strong educational background.
