In the Prep School, pupils benefit from a broad and stimulating curriculum, including art, DT, English, French, geography, ICT, history, maths, music, science and Global Citizenship. Global Citizenship covers religious education and PSHE, enabling children to gain knowledge about different cultures & religions and the ways in which they shape people from around the world.

The school strongly encourages prospective families to visit the school during its open events. These consist of tours of facilities, one-on-ones with key members of staff, an address from the Head and refreshments.

Ashford School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
At 7+, there are 54 places available in three classes, consisting of no more than 18 pupils each. To apply for a place, you should register your child with the school via this registration form. Please note that there is a non-refundable registration fee of £100 .
Your child will then be invited to the school to sit entrance assessments and attend interviews. Once you grant permission, Ashford School will request confidential references from your child’s current school.
If your child is offered a place, you will be asked to complete an acceptance form and pay a refundable deposit of £500 to secure it.
Ashford School 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships and means-tested bursaries are only available to Senior School applicants.
However, the school does offer Clergy Bursaries to the children of clergy on the basis of financial need. Requests from other Christian denominations may also be considered.

Ashford School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The Ashford School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- Verbal Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
