Introduction

Trinity School of John Whitgift, commonly referred to as Trinity School, is an independent day school for boys in Shirley Park, Croydon. In line with the motto Vincit qui patitur (Who perseveres, conquers), the school offers an ambitious educational programme that helps mould students into the leaders of tomorrow. [1]

Trinity boasts a range of extensive facilities, including four hard tennis courts, pitches for rugby and athletics, an indoor sports centre, a recording suite and a specialist choir room. Coupled with top-quality teaching for humanities, sciences, technology and many other subject options, the setting provides for pupils’ academic and non-academic needs to the fullest.

Over 100 clubs and societies are available, allowing boys to pursue their passions and interests well beyond their in-class activities. Photography, cookery, LAMDA, engineering, French Society and orchestra are just a few of the co-curricular programme’s most popular pursuits, firmly aligning with the school’s ‘something for everyone’ philosophy. [2]

Educational trips to diverse global destinations, including the USA, Iceland, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Spain, are organised regularly. These excursions not only foster strong friendships among the boys but also enhance their cultural awareness and understanding.

Focused on offering a diverse and stimulating learning environment, Trinity School promotes pupils’ personal growth by nurturing their intellectual curiosity. Presented with the advantages of a quality education, boys mature into well-rounded young adults who enthusiastically choose excellence over arrogance, as demonstrated in recent GCSE results, with 87% of pupils achieving grades 9-7.
