Open Mornings provide an excellent opportunity for interested families to discover the broad array of opportunities on offer. These events, usually held on Saturdays, involve guided tours and casual meetings with staff over coffee, enabling you and your child to immerse yourselves in The Leys’ distinctive learning environment.

The Leys School 13 Plus (13+) Admissions
At 13+, the application deadline is in November of the year preceding entry and the assessment is held the following January. The registration form can be accessed through this page and should be submitted with payment of a non-refundable registration fee.
Please note that, if a place is offered, you will be asked to pay a £600 deposit to accept it. This will be refunded to you in full upon your child’s departure from the school.
The Leys School 13 Plus (13+) Scholarships and Bursaries
The Leys offers Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships to Year 9 applicants. These carry a 5% fee remission, regardless of the number of scholarships held. Exhibitions in the areas of music and drama are also available.
Bursaries are means-tested awards that are offered to families who struggle with paying the fees. Their value ranges from 5-100% of fees, depending on the level of financial need. Your child’s academic potential, exhibited throughout the admissions process, will be taken into careful consideration. The Leys School 13 Plus (13+) Exam Format
The Leys School 13+ entrance exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Verbal Reasoning
The English paper consists of comprehension and writing sections. In the comprehension section, your child will be provided with a fictional extract, followed by questions, which may be straightforward or more open-ended, involving reasoning.
The writing section will require your child to write a story, and will assess their ability to be creative and original. Marks will also be awarded for form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam will assess problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
The Verbal Reasoning paper is primarily designed to test and assess your child’s logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
