Introduction

Basic information: James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) is a day school in Dulwich, South London. Dating back to 1741, it is the oldest independent school for girls in Greater London. JAGS is academically selective, boasting an impressive list of notable alumni. [1]

Curriculum: Maximising pupils’ proficiency, JAGS offers a dynamic timetable of academic activities. A broad curriculum is at its heart, featuring everything from mathematics and science to French and computing. [2]

Co-curricular: With focus on building skills, the activities programme is characterised by abundance, including fun and practical pursuits such as sewing, coding, netball and dance. Day trips are organised regularly, enriching the all-round provision for the benefit of pupils’ cultural and social development. [3]

Staff work closely with parents in the act of ensuring that every child on campus feels safe and happy. PSHCE lessons play a key role in this process, encouraging girls to celebrate differences as essential to lasting friendships and acquire adaptability as vital to success both in and out of the classroom.
