We’ve just released three new practice tests:
11+ Merchant Taylors’ School, General Paper – Practice Test 1
11+ Merchant Taylors’ School, General Paper – Practice Test 2
11+ Merchant Taylors’ School, General Paper – Practice Test 3
If your child is preparing for the MTS 11+ Exam this year, these new practice tests will prove ideal.
Our research indicated that there were no specific resources available to help students prepare for this school’s General Paper.
We therefore decided to create these practice tests to help your child familiarise themselves with the format and style of the actual exam.
What’s included?
Each practice test is one hour long and contains one main theme divided into three sections:
1) Language – tough questions covering English in an unusual format, assessing your child’s grasp of core language skills.
2) Logic – targeted questions covering Critical Thinking skills, assessing your child’s ability to think rationally.
3) Ethics – searching questions requiring reflection and thought, assessing your child’s ethical outlook.
Each section is worth 20 marks.
How will these products benefit my child?
It’s highly unlikely that your child will have come across the question styles covered in the General Paper.
As such, these new practice tests will provide you with invaluable insights into what to expect in the actual exam.
We’ve included sample answers and mark schemes so you know exactly how to mark your child’s work.
A growing number of schools now assess for ‘soft skills’ such as Ethics, Logic, Empathy and Critical Thinking. This is often conducted at interview but sometimes appears in written exams as well.
Therefore, whilst these new practice tests are specifically designed for the MTS 11+ Exam, they will prove helpful for the written or interview stage at many other schools too.
