Introduction

Forest School, located on the edge of Epping Forest, is an independent school for boys and girls aged 4-18. Staff there take great pride in knowing all the pupils as individuals and providing them with a safe and happy environment in which they can thrive.

Academic attainment at Forest School is excellent. In the Preparatory School, pupils have lessons covering a wide range of subjects, such as maths, English, philosophy, Mandarin and dance. Pupils are helped and encouraged to be hard-working, resilient, independent learners, which sets them up perfectly for success in their future endeavours.

The co-curricular programme at Forest School is impressive. There is a vast range of clubs and activities for pupils to choose from, meaning all pupils have the opportunity to develop their existing talents and step out of their comfort zones to try something new. In addition to this, educational day and residential trips are a part of school life, ensuring pupils have memorable learning experiences.

Small class sizes enable teachers to get to know their pupils well. This means they notice if a pupil is experiencing any difficulties and are quick to offer appropriate support and guidance. Student welfare is always the most important consideration for Forest School.

Forest School: English Written Paper for 8 Plus (8+)/Year 4 Entry

The standard English written paper will cover comprehension and writing.

The comprehension section will assess your child’s ability to interpret what they read. They will need to retrieve information from a passage and make inferences.

The writing section will assess the standard of your child’s spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the maturity of their vocabulary. Your child will also need to show that they can use their imagination to produce an engaging piece of work.
