We have designed four stand-alone courses to help your child prepare for the ISEB Common Pretest. Each will include an overview of the test as well as specific strategies and advice on how to deal with the various question types within each of the four sections: Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Each of the courses covers the whole Pretest but they contain different content and material. You can book one or multiple courses for your child, depending on how much preparation would prove beneficial for them.
By the end of the course, your child will have a solid understanding of what to expect in the ISEB Pretest assessment, which will look and feel familiar. They will be equipped with the tools and frameworks to deal with any question they face on test day. There will be no surprises so they will be able to approach the ISEB Pretest with confidence, dealing with any question accurately and efficiently.
Who will teach the classes?
We’ve lined up our most qualified and talented tutors and teachers to lead these sessions. Not only do they have vast experience of ISEB Pretest preparation, but they are also experts in the various nuances required to teach group classes effectively in an online setting.
How do I book and pay?
Choose your courses above and enter your personal details as requested.
You will then be asked to enter your credit or debit card details to make payment.
Once payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email.
Can I book more than one course?
Yes, as long as the date and time you want has availability, you will be able to book. There are different courses, all separately numbered, for you to book.
If I want to book more than one course, does my child need to attend the courses in order, Course 1, Course 2 etc?
No – your child can attend any course in any order you like. Each course is pitched at the same difficulty level but covers unique material.
How many students will there be on a course?
There will be a maximum of 12 students per course. The group dynamic works particularly well with Pretest teaching.
Is each course stand-alone?
Yes, each course is stand-alone and self-contained. This means that you can sign up for one, two, three or more. All feedback will be given to students during the class.
How does an online course work?
Tutors will use a combination of Zoom, workbooks and a shared digital whiteboard to ensure students gain maximum benefit from each lesson. This will ensure that your child will be able to see the tutor and his or her fellow students, access material that will be used in the session and be able to work on documents in real time.
Each student will be able to ask questions and participate fully in the class.
What materials do I need for my child to take part?
A hard copy course workbook will be posted to you in advance of each course. This will contain all of the material your child will need to take part in the course. You will just need to provide pencils and stationery.
Our course workbooks contain completely original material that cannot be found elsewhere. They provide the most accurate representation of the ISEB Pretest available in the market today.
Can you email me a copy of the course workbook?
Unfortunately, we cannot make electronic copies available due to copyright.
Why do you need my postal address on booking?
This is so we know exactly where to send your child’s hard copy course workbook.
When will I receive my hard copy course workbook?
We will send it to you a few days before the course begins. If you have not received it by the preceding Thursday, please contact us.
What do I need to do to ensure the lesson goes smoothly?
Please install Zoom well in advance of the first session and make sure it is working. This will help to ensure that the session starts promptly for your child and their fellow students. (See below for guidance on how to install Zoom.)
You will receive a link by email in advance of the session. This will be your login link. It will be sent to the email address which you use to book.
Please ensure that your child is in front of their screen and ready to go 5 minutes before the official session start time, so they have time to get comfortable and log in.
Please minimise background noise and distractions.
What technology does my child need to participate in a lesson?
All they will need is access to a laptop or tablet and a free Zoom account. The tutor will share a Zoom link in advance of the session via the email address you booked with and provide access to a shared digital whiteboard. This will allow students and the tutor to annotate documents in real time.
How do I sign up for a Zoom account?
Click here to visit the Zoom website and sign up for a free basic account. You will need an account before you are able to participate in a session, but it is straightforward and can be done within minutes.
Please ensure that you set up your Zoom account well in advance of your first session. Once set up and installed, you will not have to install again.
If you are having trouble installing, please visit their installation help page.
Is a Zoom account free?
Yes, a basic account is free, so you will not incur any costs signing up to Zoom.
What if I need to cancel my course booking?
You will receive a refund, minus the cost of the workbook, if you cancel a course 5 days in advance. Cancellation after this time will be charged in full. Please contact us at email@example.com if you need to cancel.
What if I need to amend my course booking?
If you would like to amend your booking please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may be able to change to a different course, subject to availability.
Are one-on-one ISEB Pretest sessions available?
