Trent College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The admissions process begins with registration. Applications, which can be made online, are followed by a request for a reference from your child’s current school. Entrance assessments are taken on Taster (Discovery) Day.
Your child will also be invited to attend an interview (in January). Children applying for Year 7 entry will be asked to complete a personal statement in advance, which will give them a preview of some of the questions that will come up in the interview.
Based on the results of the interview, reference and assessment, your child may receive an offer of a place. Offers are typically made within one week of the entrance assessment day and are accepted with a payment of a deposit.
Trent College 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
If you wish to apply for a scholarship, note that your child will sit additional assessments in January. At 11+, the school offers Academic, Art, Choral, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships.
33% of all Trent pupils receive help with their fees, whether that be directly from the school or from other sources. Bursaries are means-tested and are valued depending on your income, savings, assets, investments and personal financial situation. A means-tested bursary can cover up to 50% of the day fees.
The application for financial assistance runs simultaneously with your application for a place and is fully confidential. The process starts with a request for an application pack from the Bursar’s Executive Assistant. Upon receipt, you should complete the bursary application form and return it to the school with supporting documents.
You will then meet with the Bursar to discuss your application and personal circumstances. The school will later notify you of the outcome. Please note that bursaries are subject to an annual review. For more information, please refer to the school.
