The Portsmouth Grammar School is a co-educational independent school in Portsmouth. Located in the historic part of the city, the school was founded in 1732 as a boys’ school and started to admit girls in 1976.

The Junior School Open Events allow families to visit the school and tour its facilities, as well as have an informal meeting with the Head. The Portsmouth Grammar School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
The first step of the admissions process includes registration and a payment of a £50 fee. The following step consists of assessments, examining your child’s skills in the areas of numeracy, literacy and non-verbal reasoning. Interviews with a senior staff member will also take place.
Offers are sent out shortly after the assessments, to be accepted with a payment of a refundable deposit.

The above areas are tested via standardised (multiple-choice) assessments.
