Streatham & Clapham High School is an independent day school for girls located in south London. Founded in 1887 by the Girls’ Public Day School Company, the school was recently rated as ‘Excellent’ by ISI in regards to the quality of pupils’ achievements and their personal development. 
Noted for its liberal and challenging academic curriculum, SCHS encourages pursuit of excellence amongst girls, whether they have an interest in sports, the humanities or the sciences.
Its very own enrichment programme named Kinza (an Arabic term meaning ‘hidden treasure’), provides girls with the opportunity to explore those interests without any examination pressure and hence develop new skills and discover new passions.

Streatham & Clapham High School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
To register your daughter with the school, you should complete this online application form and pay the registration fee of £125. The deadline for registrations is in November of the year preceding entry.
As part of the admissions process, a copy of your daughter’s end-of-year school report will be requested. There will also be an interview, a writing task and an online test, assessing your daughter’s English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning skills. The interview and writing task take place on the same day in November.
An offer of a place is made following your daughter’s successful performance in the assessments and interviews, coupled with a strong school report. The offer is sent out by mail in early February of the calendar year of entry and should be accepted by early March.
To secure your daughter’s place, you will be expected to pay a £1000 deposit, refunded in her last term at the school.
Streatham & Clapham High School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Streatham & Clapham High School offers Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships.
Academic scholarships are typically valued at 5-20% of the fees and are awarded at the Head’s discretion. Recipients of these awards can also apply for a specialist award, or a bursary.
Art Scholarships are awarded on the basis of interview and a sketchbook, demonstrating the applicant’s skills in pencil, paint, collage, sculpture and pastel (oil or soft).
Drama Scholarships are awarded following a successful audition, a strong reference from an external drama society, evidence of participation in public performances and a personal statement. Click here to learn more.
Applicants for Music Scholarships should be of Grade 4 standard or higher in one instrument or voice, whilst girls who are actively engaged in sports such as netball, hockey, rowing, gymnastics and athletics, may be considered eligible for a Sports Scholarship.
Means-tested bursaries are awarded following evaluation of your financial circumstances. The bursary may cover 100% of the fees and provide help with other expenses, such as school uniform and travel.
If you fail to meet the criteria for a 100% bursary, you may still receive financial support, ranging from 30% to 95% of the fees.
Your interest in obtaining financial assistance from the school should be indicated in the registration form. Note that you will be expected to complete a ‘Declaration of Income & Assets’ form and provide proof of your income and assets. If the annual income of your household is less than £36,000, you will be considered eligible for a full bursary.
Your daughter’s entrance exam results and overall academic ability will also be taken into consideration.

- ISEB Common Pretest
The English writing paper examines writing skills. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The Pretest is an online assessment which assesses skills in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
