Stanfield Merchant Taylors’ School 7 Plus (7+) Entrance Exam Information – Key Details
Table of Contents
The Merchant Taylors’ School was founded in 1620 by John Harrison, citizen and Merchant Taylor of London. Its Primary school, Stanfield Merchant Taylors’ School, educates children at the ages 4–11.
Very early on, the school encourages pupils to develop their natural talents for the benefit of producing strong academic and non-academic outcomes. The balance between work and play stretches their knowledge and abilities in line with the national curriculum and beyond, resulting in excellent achievements and memorable experiences.
An extensive range of modern facilities is on offer, which, following a £5 million investment, now boasts spacious teaching rooms, a specialist Art and Science Room and a modern Music Studio. Stanfield Merchant Taylors’ also benefits from the Senior School facilities, such as cutting edge laboratories and playing fields, allowing children to smoothly transition into further stages of their education.
Small class sizes ensure a personalised education, underpinned by a secure and caring environment where children are encouraged to take risks and expand their intellectual curiosity. The broad range of extracurriculars further enriches the learning experience and strengthens the positive relationships between pupils and staff, who aim to set children up well for their future.
