Introduction
St Swithun’s School is an independent day and boarding school for girls in Winchester, Hampshire. A high-performing school, St Swithun’s offers a number of modern facilities for sports, including 9 lacrosse pitches, 6 netball courts, 13 tennis courts, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool and a multi-purpose sports hall. Open Days and Autumn Tours allow prospective families to explore the campus and meet with the Prep Head. During these events, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about the admissions process and familiarise your child with members of the teaching staff.
St Swithun’s School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
Registration forms can be obtained from the Admissions Team. In order for the admissions process to formally begin, these should be submitted together with a payment of a £75 non-refundable fee.
Your daughter will then be invited to the school to be observed and assessed through online Reasoning tests. If she receives an offer, you will be asked to accept it with a payment of a £500 deposit. Please note that St Swithun’s will also look into the quality of your daughter’s school reports.

The St Swithun’s School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessment:
- Reasoning (Verbal and Non-Verbal)
The Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test is designed to test and assess your daughter’s logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test measures her ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
