St Paul’s Girls’ School (SPGS) 13 Plus (13+) Admissions
The entrance examination for Year 9 entry has two stages. The Stage 1 exam includes papers for two subject areas, while the Stage 2 exam consists of an interview, during which your child’s academic and general skills will be further assessed.
Please note that your daughter’s extracurricular interests will also be taken into consideration. If a place is offered, you will be asked to accept it with a payment of a deposit.
The registration fee is £125, and the acceptance deposit is half the current termly fee.

St Paul’s Girls’ School (SPGS) 13 Plus (13+) Deferred Entry Exam Format
The SPSG Stage 1 13+ examination consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
The English paper examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper will include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
The SPSG Stage 2 13+ examination consists of interviews, assessing you daughter’s skills in the areas of:
- Science
- Languages
The Science assessment will test your daughter’s knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
