St Gabriel’s School is an independent day school in Sandleford, located two miles south of Newbury. Founded in 1929, the school occupies a Grade I listed building settled in 54 acres of beautiful parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown. 
In the Junior School, pupils study English, mathematics, science, technology, art, drama, MFL, geography, history, RE, music and sports.

Open events allow prospective families to learn more about the school’s ethos and experience the friendly atmosphere on campus. St Gabriel’s School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
The admissions process includes registration, formal assessments, an offer of a place and acceptance.
Registration forms can be found here and should be submitted together with a fee of £75. Once your form has been processed, your child will be invited to attend a Junior Assessment and Taster Day and sit exams for English and Maths.
Within a week of the assessments, you will be notified of your child’s results. If they meet the school’s criteria, a place at the school will be offered.
To accept the offer, you will be asked to complete and sign an Acceptance Form and return it to the school together with £500 refundable deposit.

The St Gabriel’s 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English (reading and writing)
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
