Introduction
St Dunstan’s College is a co-educational independent school in Catford, south-east London. Founded in 1888, St Dunstan’s is widely recognised for its innovative technical curriculum. It is also considered an independent school unlike the others in the area, mainly due to its accessibility and the fact that it caters for pupils from varied backgrounds. [1]
Besides the core subjects of maths, English and science, pupils also study humanities, ICT, PE, MFL, music, art and PSHEE, among others. Through the Forder Programme of co-curricular activities, the school significantly enhances the learning experience, enabling children to boost their skills while making independent decisions about how they want to spend their free time.
A number of cutting edge facilities are on offer, including the Learning Resource Centre, which fuses the features of a traditional library with digital resources, and the Great Hall of St Dunstan’s, where assemblies, musicals and plays regularly take place. For pupils with interests in sports, the school provides two large playing fields, a sports hall, a gym & fitness studio and a 33-metre indoor swimming pool. [2]
The pupil-centred education at St Dunstan’s allows each child to flourish at their own pace while partaking in endeavours within a nurturing and safe environment. Offering structured lessons to inspire and engage the entire class, the school ensures that students learn without pressure and hence secures their harmonious transition into Senior School.
