Introduction
St Columba’s College is an independent day school in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Founded in 1939, St Columba’s provides a broad curriculum linked to the national curriculum and to the Diocese of Westminster rules. [1]

St Columba’s College, St Albans, 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
To register your interest for a place, you should complete and submit this online form together with a payment of a £50 non-refundable fee. Your child will then be added to the list of candidates for the 7+ assessments, taking place in January of the calendar year of entry.
By mid-February, the school will inform you of their decision. If your child is offered a place, you will be asked to secure it with a payment of a refundable deposit. Please note that confidential references and school reports will also be taken into consideration.

The St Columba’s College 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
- Reasoning
The English exam tests comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning test measures their ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
