Sidcot School is a co-educational, independent day and boarding school located near the village of Winscombe, Somerset. Associated with the Religious Society of Friends, the school is one of seven Quaker schools in the country. 
The curriculum covers art, business studies, computer science, design technology, drama, geography, history, MFL, music, PE, English, digital media, food preparation & nutrition, mathematics, RS, philosophy & applied ethics, sciences and textiles.
The school has a number of popular sporting facilities such as the superb 25-metre indoor heated pool, a multi gym and sports hall. As a result, Sidcot School offers various sporting opportunities, including football, rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, tennis, athletics, horse riding and fencing, as well as ‘Octopush’, or underwater hockey.
Besides sports, pupils engage in a range of other activities. Sidcot School strongly encourages green initiatives and joining the gardening club to take up beekeeping, as well as organising events for Red Nose Day, Children in Need, Macmillan Cancer Support and local charities.

Sidcot School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The admissions process includes completing an application form and returning it along with a registration fee of £150. Your child’s most recent school report will also be requested.
They will then be invited to take assessments, which will help the school determine which teaching group they will enter. The assessments will take place at a mutually convenient date. There will also be an interview with the Head.
To accept an offer of a place, you should read the Parent Contract and return the completed Acceptance Form along with the deposit and a completed Medical Card.
Sidcot School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are available in the areas of Academic ability, Art, Drama, Music, Sport and Equestrian, including the Tim Bevan Creative Arts Scholarship and All-rounder awards. Scholarships are worth up to 10% of fees.
Applications should be made by the deadline in early January of Year 6, with assessments taking place later the same month and interviews taking place in February.
Bursaries are means tested, offered to students from low-income families, and are typically valid for the duration of their time at Sidcot. Unfortunately, the school’s bursary funds are limited, failing to meet all requests for support.

Sidcot School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Sidcot School 11+ exam consists of the following tests:
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
