Royal Hospital School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
If you wish your child to enter the school in Year 7, you should ideally register two years in advance of entry and, latest, by the end of the first week of December prior to the year of entry. Subject to availability of places, late applications may be also considered.
Following the registration, your child will be asked to come to the school for an interview with a senior member of staff. A current-school reference will be requested around this time, which must be received before an offer of a place is made.
Your child will then be asked to attend an Assessment Day in January of the year of entry.
Places are normally offered during the first week of February and should be accepted within four weeks. Acceptance of a place includes a contract (to be signed by you) and paying an Acceptance Deposit.
Academic Exhibitions and Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of your child’s outstanding performance in the tests and interview, as well as a positive current-school reference.
RHS also offers Talent Awards (for Sport, Music, Drama, Art, Design and Sailing) and All-Round Awards.
A means-tested bursary offer can be made in conjunction with the offer of a place, covering a maximum value of 50% of the school fees, depending on your financial or other circumstances and subject to budgetary constraints of the school.
Bursary awards are reviewed annually and may increase/decrease subject to changes in your financial circumstances, the child’s progress, unsatisfactory attitude or behaviour, etc. For more information, please visit the school’s website.
