Basic information: The Stephen Perse Foundation is a family of co-ed independent schools in Essex. One of their two Junior Divisions, Rosedale House, is situated in Cambridge and caters for approximately 140 pupils. [1]

Open Days at Rosedale House provide families with a fantastic opportunity to get a feel for life on campus. Rosedale House 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
The closing date for applications is in December of the year preceding entry. The registration form must be accompanied by a payment of a £200 fee in order to be considered.
8+ examinations take place in the following January. Please note that the admissions process also includes interviews, school reports and confidential references.
If Rosedale House offers your child a place, you will be asked to accept it by the deadline in March. The acceptance fee of £300 is non-refundable, while the acceptance deposit of £500 is refunded during your child’s last term at the school.
Rosedale House 8 Plus (8+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Rosedale House does not offer scholarships, but families in need of financial support can apply for a means-tested bursary. In order to be considered, bursary application forms must be submitted alongside supporting documentation regarding your gross annual income, savings, assets, etc.
Bursary Administration Ltd (BAL), an independent company used by many public schools, will conduct a home visit as part of the evaluation process. Please note that bursaries are reviewed annually and thus may vary in value. More details are available on this page.
Rosedale House 8 Plus (8+) Exam Format
The Rosedale House 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning exam measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
