St Albans High School for Girls is an independent day school for girls in Hertfordshire. Established in 1889, it is an academically selective and high-performing facility, offering a vast number of cutting edge facilities for the benefit of pupils’ rounded development. [1]

The curriculum is aimed at boosting curiosity and intellectual independence, featuring a number of relevant disciplines for this purpose, including science, humanities and technology. The broad educational offering includes interactive in-class teaching and plenty of experiential learning, allowing girls to apply their knowledge in real-life situations.

Beyond the classroom, the school’s provision extensively caters for a number of interests, whether they be debating, chess, choir, technical theatre or creative writing. The wealth of opportunities on offer maximises pupils’ problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills, alongside their ability to adapt to various contexts embedded in STAHS’ vibrant school life. [2]

The pastoral staff ensure that girls take calculated risks on their path to achieving their academic and non-academic goals, providing a safe haven for agile thinkers who endeavour to challenge the establishment. Happy, safe and supported, pupils progress through the school with resilience even in the face of setbacks, turning every failure into a learning experience.
