Introduction

Repton School is a Christian independent day and boarding school located in Repton, Derby, Derbyshire. Founded upon the will of Sir John Port of Etwall in 1557, the school is recognised as one of the top sporting schools in the UK, with pupils excelling in Hockey, Football, Tennis and Cricket.

In Year 9, pupils study biology, chemistry, English, ethical and religious studies, geography, history, digital literacy, mathematics, Classics, Modern Foreign Languages, PSHCE, physical education and physics.

There are a number of active societies at Repton School such as the Debating Society, Literary Society, Medical Society, Classical Society and Ferguson Society for Maths. Via the school’s Ghana Project, pupils travel to the African country for two weeks visiting Dreamland School and Cecilia Blessing, schools supported both financially and logistically by Repton.

Repton’s education provides a rich balance of academic and co-curricular activities, underpinned by extensive pastoral care. Each year, approximately 10% of Repton’s pupils are offered places at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Maximising each pupil’s potential is at the heart of everything the school aims for.
