Queenswood School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Entry to Queenswood in Year 7 is based on successful performance in entrance examinations and an interview, as well as a satisfactory reference from your daughter’s current school. To become more familiar with life at Queenswood, she can attend a Taster Day/sleepover, which can be arranged with Admissions and can take place either before or after registration.
To register your daughter, you should complete a Registration Form and pay a non-refundable fee of £130. The school recommends that you register as early as possible. You will be contacted by the school to confirm that your daughter’s name is placed on the entry list.
Admission into Year 7 is subject to successful performance in the Common Entrance Assessment or the Queenswood 11+ examinations. Your daughter will be interviewed on exam day, and there will also be a group activity. An offer of a place will be sent out in December and acceptances are required by the deadline in March.
Queenswood School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Queenswood Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and potential; the majority of them are honorary and do not offer financial support. A small number of awards with fee remission are available for candidates applying for a music scholarship.
Academic, Art, Hockey, Sports and Tennis Scholarships are also available to Year 7 applicants. Academic awards are offered on the basis of performance in the entrance examinations and interview, as well as a reference from your child’s current Headteacher.
Bursaries are offered to girls who perform exceptionally well in the examinations and who demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the school community, but are in need of financial support.
Queenswood relies principally on fee income from which it funds Bursary awards. Awards may cover a percentage of the day fees and normally don’t cover the boarding element of the school fee or extra chargeable activities. The deadline for Bursary applications is set in November.
