Queen Anne’s School is an independent boarding and day school for girls located in the suburb of Caversham just north of the River Thames and Reading town centre. Almost all Queen Anne’s students go on to study at universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, and many go on to do postgraduate work.
Whilst at Queen Anne’s, girls study art, biology, chemistry, classics, drama, economics and business studies, English, geography, history, ICT and computer science, mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, music, physical education, physics, politics, psychology and religion & philosophy.
Co-curricular activities include Lacrosse, Horse riding, Diving, Fitness, Ice skating, Rowing, Fashion design, Cookery, Singing, Acting, Drama & Theatre and many others.

Open Events for Queen Anne’s School, Caversham 11 plus (11+) Entry
The school holds Open Mornings/Evenings, consisting of pupil-led tours of the school during which you will meet key staff, find out more about the curriculum and see the facilities.

Queen Anne’s School, Caversham 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
To register your daughter for Year 7 Entry, you should fill in a form that is available on the school’s website. The registration fee of £100 is non-refundable.
Your daughter will then be invited to attend a 11+ assessment day which takes place in October, prior to Common Entrance in January. She will also take part in a group interview.
Non-assessed workshops will take place during the assessment day to allow girls to get to know each other and experience life at Queen Anne’s. A reserved place may be offered as a result of your daughter’s performance on assessment day.
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of successful performance in both the Assessment day and the Common Entrance. They cover a maximum of 30% of day fees. Smaller Scholarships (Exhibitions) may also be awarded.
All Round Scholarships are available to academically strong candidates who also demonstrate ability in art, drama, music or sport. Candidates will be required to choose two out of these four options and will be examined further. The All Round Scholarship covers a maximum of 20% of day fees. The school also offers bursary assistance if it’s determined that you would otherwise not be able to send your daughter to Queen Anne’s. Note that all applications for bursaries are means tested. Bursaries may be awarded separately or held in addition to scholarships.

The Queen Anne’s School 11+ Assessment consists of the following tests:
- CEM Select
The English paper may examine both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
CEM Select examines your child’s skills in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning.
