Introduction
Queen Anne’s School is an independent boarding and day school for girls located in the suburb of Caversham just north of the River Thames and Reading town centre. Almost all Queen Anne’s students go on to study at universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, and many go on to do postgraduate work.
Whilst at Queen Anne’s, girls study art, biology, chemistry, classics, drama, economics and business studies, English, geography, history, ICT and computer science, mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, music, physical education, physics, politics, psychology and religion & philosophy.
Co-curricular activities include Lacrosse, Horse riding, Diving, Fitness, Ice skating, Rowing, Fashion design, Cookery, Singing, Acting, Drama & Theatre and many others.

Open Events for Queen Anne’s School, Caversham, 11 Plus (11+) Entry
The school holds Open Mornings/Evenings, consisting of pupil-led tours of the school during which you will meet key staff, find out more about the curriculum and see the facilities.

Queen Anne’s School, Caversham, 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
To register your daughter for Year 7 Entry, you should fill in a form that is available on the school’s website. The registration fee is non-refundable. Your daughter will then be invited to attend an 11+ assessment day which takes place in October. There may also be an interview.
Non-assessed workshops will take place during the assessment day to allow girls to get to know each other and experience life at Queen Anne’s. A reserved place may be offered as a result of your daughter’s performance on assessment day, to be accepted with a payment of a £1,000 deposit.
Queen Anne’s School, Caversham, 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of successful performance in the 11+ exam. They cover a maximum of 25% of day fees. Smaller Scholarships (Exhibitions) may also be awarded.

The school offers bursary assistance if it’s determined that you would otherwise not be able to send your daughter to Queen Anne’s. Please note that all applications for bursaries include a thorough means-testing procedure that will look into your financial circumstances.

The Queen Anne’s School 11+ exam consists of the following tests:

- CEM Select
The English paper may examine both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
CEM Select examines your child’s skills in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning.
