Palmers Green High School is an independent girls’ school located in Hoppers Road, Palmers Green, North London. Founded in 1905 by Alice Hum, member of the Society of Friends, it is amongst the top 100 schools in the country in terms of GCSE results.

Palmers Green High School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
At 11+, your daughter will sit entrance examinations in English, Maths and Reasoning. If she performs well, she will be invited for an interview, during which she will be asked to give a short presentation on a subject of her choice. Parents will be informed of the date of the interview in the week following the examination.
References from your daughter’s current school will also be considered. You can register her with the school using a registration form.
Palmers Green High School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Subject to successful performance in the entrance examinations, the school may offer your daughter an Academic Scholarship/Subject Award.
At 11+, the school also offers Music Awards. These are available to outstanding musicians who play an instrument or sing with exceptional ability. Note that candidates for music awards must also pass the academic entrance examination. For more information, please contact the Head of Music.
Means-tested bursaries are available to girls whose families are in need of financial assistance with fees. Bursary forms are available upon request and should be submitted prior to the entrance examination. You will also be expected to provide proof of income and assets. The Palmers Green High School 11+ exam consists of:
- English paper (writing task)
- ISEB Common Pretest
The English paper examines writing skills, including spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The online ISEB Pretest examines your daughter’s ability in skills such as numeracy, problem solving and vocabulary, with emphasis on how she thinks and responds to the curriculum. The test consists of modules testing Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
