Oldham Hulme Grammar School is an independent school in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Founded in the 19th century under the Endowed Schools Act 1869, Oldham Hulme follows the ‘diamond model’.
The curriculum comprises English, mathematics, science, computer science, PSHE, geography, history, religious studies, art, technology, music, physical education, Latin and Modern Foreign Languages.

To enter Oldham Hulme Grammar School in Year 7, your child must take the entrance examination in January of the calendar year of entry.
Following successful performance in the exam, your child will be invited to attend an interview in February. The selection process takes into account their current school report and any special circumstances (eg. recent changes in health or school).
Academic scholarships are available to candidates who perform successfully in the entrance exam. The top 4 pupils will receive a £4,000 scholarship, positions 5-7 will receive a £2,000 award and positions 8-0 will receive a £1,000 award. Scholarships will last for the duration of Years 7-11 and are awarded regardless of parental income.
Means-tested financial support for the payment of school fees (bursary) is also available in Year 7. Bursaries cover up to 100% of the tuition fees depending on the academic performance of the pupil and the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of the parents.

The Oldham Hulme Grammar School entrance assessment consists of the following papers:
- Verbal Reasoning
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation.
The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills.
The Verbal Reasoning paper is primarily designed to test and assess students’ logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
