Nottingham High School 11 Plus (11+) Entrance Exam Information – Key Details
Table of Contents
Nottingham High School is a co-educational day school for children aged 4 to 18. Located in the heart of Nottingham, the main building is an impressive Gothic Revival work of architecture surrounded by landscaped gardens.
Nottingham High School was founded over 500 years ago as a boys’ school, but became fully co-educational in 2015. There are still more boys than girls on the register, but the school aims to eventually achieve an equal balance. The transition so far has been very successful; the school has continued to achieve excellent exam results, with 86% of all GCSE grades awarded in 2019 being in the A*–B range, and it was named East Midlands Independent Secondary School of the Year in The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2019.
Alongside its broad and traditional academic curriculum, Nottingham High School offers a wide range of co-curricular activities. It is well-known for its sporting achievements and provides top-level coaching in first-class facilities, which include extensive playing fields (on a separate site), a swimming pool and climbing wall.
