Notre Dame School is an independent Catholic girls’ day school located in Cobham, Surrey. Founded in 1937 by nuns from the Company of Our Lady Mary, the school came under the authority of a charitable trust in 2003.
In Year 7, all girls study the core subjects: English, mathematics, theology, biology, chemistry and physics, in addition to MFL, Latin, history, geography, ICT, music, drama, art, PE, swimming, textiles technology and food technology.
The school operates a House system consisting of four Houses, enabling girls to forge happy relationships and take part in a variety of sporting, musical and dramatic competitions throughout the year.

Open Events for Notre Dame School 11 Plus (11+) Entry
The school holds Whole School Open Mornings in October and November. The Senior School Open Morning is held in March, whilst the Senior School Open Evening & Art Exhibition takes place in June. The Year 6 Challenge Day for Year 7 entry is in September. You can pre-register for these events via the school’s website.

Notre Dame School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
After a visit, if you wish to register your daughter with the school, you should fill in an online form and pay the registration fee of £100. The deadline for Exam and Scholarship Registrations is in the November prior to the year of entry.
Entrance examinations take place in January. The examinations test skills in 3 areas of the curriculum. There will also be an informal interview with a Senior member of the staff. A reference from your daughter’s current school will be requested around this time.
Notre Dame School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
At 11+, the school awards Art, Music, Drama and Sports Scholarships. Applying for these includes completing an additional Scholarship Registration Form, available on the school’s website.
Academic Scholarships are offered on the grounds of your daughter’s performance in the entrance examination, therefore, a separate application is not required.
Art, Music, Drama and Sports Scholarship applicants will be assessed during the relevant Scholarship Assessment Day.
Bursaries are also available. They are means-tested and awarded at the sole discretion of the school.
Bursary applications must be submitted by the end of the November prior to the year of entry. They should be accompanied by a supporting statement, outlining why your daughter would benefit from a Bursary and a Notre Dame education. Bursaries are reviewed annually.

The Notre Dame School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following tests:
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning test measures her ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, assessing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
