Introduction
Northwood College is an independent day school for girls located in Northwood, London. Founded in 1870, the school is part of the GDST consortium. [1]
In the Junior School, girls benefit from a stimulating and rich curriculum, consisting of English, maths, science, computing, Spanish, Latin, history, geography, PE, swimming, music, art, DT, RS, drama, PSHE and Thinking Skills.
The curriculum is taught in Bryden Brown House, a modern, purpose-built building that hosts numerous musical concerts, performances and drama productions throughout the year.
Encouraging girls to reach beyond their comfort zone and facilitate friendships across different year groups, the school offers a number of non-academic pursuits which aim to meet their varying interests and preferences, whether that be gardening, ballet, engineering, K-Kwon-Do or yoga.
According to the latest ISI report, ‘the quality of pupils’ personal development is outstanding’, relationships between staff and pupils are excellent and a strong sense of belonging prevails amongst girls. [2]
Northwood College is dedicated to ensuring that girls mature into conscientious, ambitious, confident and happy adults who are grounded in a love of learning. Taught to embrace change and innovation, students leave school with the objective to use their talents in line with their strong intellectual and emotional capacity to make a positive impact.
