Northampton High School is a day school for girls in Hardingstone, Northampton. Founded in 1878 by a committee of local church people, the school became independent during the 1970s and is now a member of the Girls’ Day School Trust.
In their most recent report for Northampton High, the ISI inspectors concluded that the pupils’ academic and other successes, as well as the quality of their personal and social development, are ‘excellent’.
The curriculum in Year 3 covers English, mathematics, science, humanities, French, music, PE, games, art & design, computing and PSHEE.
Girls’ skills and talents are maximised through their participation in the rich and varied extra-curricular programme of activities, whilst their intellectual curiosity and emotional development are further enhanced during the many residential trips they take, organised by the school on an annual basis.
Northampton High is noted for its traditional class teacher system which ensures that teachers are always available to mentor and guide pupils, especially when they feel academically challenged.
The school celebrates effort, success and service, strongly encouraging girls to jump back up whenever they ‘stumble’ on their path towards happy, balanced and fulfilling adult lives.
