11+ Verbal Reasoning (CEM) Word Definitions
This product will provide your child with ideal preparation for this challenging question type.
Who is this pack designed for?
This pack is designed for students taking CEM 11+ exams for Year 7 entry. This includes CEM grammar school exams as well as CEM independent school exams, like the London Consortium assessment.
If you’re not sure if the school/s you are targeting use CEM, let us know and we will confirm for you.
What is the ‘Word Definitions’ question type?
It’s a specific question type known to come up frequently in CEM exams.
Students are presented with ten definitions and four words. They must choose which definition best suits each word and mark it on the provided answer sheet.
These questions can be quite tricky. For example, the superfluous definitions are designed to pose challenges, perhaps defining a homophone of one of the target words. To do well in this question type, students must be confident in their choice of words and their meanings.
