Introduction
Moreton Hall is an independent boarding and day school located four miles from the historic market town Oswestry. Founded in 1913, the school occupies 100 acres of parkland on the beautiful Shropshire/North Wales border. [1]

Moreton Hall School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
The first stage of the admissions process consists of registration, which includes a payment of a £200 fee. The deadline is in December of the year preceding entry.
Offers are made on the basis of your child’s performance in written exams and the quality of their reference, as well as their merit in extra-curricular skills. To confirm the place, you will be asked to pay a deposit of £500.
Moreton Hall School 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
The school offers a number of Scholarships to 7+ applicants. Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of children’s performance in informal interviews and standardised tests for Maths and English. Sports Scholarships are offered on the basis of multi sport sessions and assessments.
Drama, Music, Art and Spoken English Scholarships are also available. All scholarship awards are valid during your child’s time at the Prep School and aim to provide an enhanced programme for able children without any significant fee remission included.

The Moreton Hall School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
