Manor House School is an independent day school for girls located in Little Bookham, Surrey. Founded in 1920 in Devon, the school moved to Bookham in 1937.

Open Mornings offer families the chance to take part in a range of activities, take a pupil-led tour of the school, talk to members of the teaching staff and meet current students. Booking is made online.

After visiting the school, you should fill in the Application Form and pay a £75 registration fee. Your daughter will then be invited to attend the ‘Year 6 into Year 7 Experience Day’ in mid November.
Entrance examinations take place in January, whilst the Scholarship Assessments are held in the November preceding September entry.
School Places, Scholarships and/or Bursaries are announced in January.
To accept an offer of a place, you will be expected to pay a deposit of £800, refundable at the end of your daughter’s education at Manor House School.
Manor House School, Bookham 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Academic scholarships are awarded to top-performing candidates in the Entrance Examinations. They can be both major and minor awards. Major awards cover 50% of the annual fees, whilst minor ones are valued at 40%.
At 11+, the school also offers Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships, covering 10-30% of the annual fees. Your daughter can apply for a scholarship in one or more of these areas. They are awarded on the basis of your daughter’s performance on the assessment day/s held in November. Application forms can be requested from the Admissions Office or downloaded from the school’s website.
Means-tested bursaries can supplement a scholarship, or be awarded separately and provide a fee remission of up to 100%. Bursary applications should be made by the deadline in November prior to entry the following September. You will be considered eligible if your daughter has successfully been offered a school place. The Manor House School, Bookham 11+ entrance examination consists of the following tests:
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
There will also be a Science Paper.
