Introduction

Luckley House School is an independent day and boarding school, set in a rural location south of the historic market town of Wokingham, Berkshire. Founded in 1918, the school educated girls only for most of its history. It became co-educational in 2015.

In Year 7, pupils study English, drama, mathematics, science, MFL, engineering, geography, history, religious studies, art, computer science, music, photography, physical education, textiles technology, food & nutrition, Latin and Life Skills (the school’s personal and social education programme).

The strong and broad academic provision is supplemented by a variety of co-curricular activities, events and educational trips that take place throughout the year, including visits to destinations such as South Africa, the USA and Spain. The school also structures a programme of visiting speakers, including academic experts, authors, illustrators, artists, inspirational speakers and charity representatives, who provide pupils with an insight into their areas of work.

Characterised by a secure and caring community, Luckley House fosters an atmosphere of friendship and trust where pupils’ self-discipline, self-esteem, mutual respect and cooperation flourish. The teaching staff maintain high academic expectations, whilst enabling pupils to think independently, equipping them with the skills necessary for success in the ever-changing world beyond school.
