Introduction
Leicester High School for Girls (LHS) is an independent day school in South Knighton, Leicester. Although it was initially coeducational, LHS is now an all-girls school. [1]
The curriculum is based upon the Imaginative Learning Projects from Cornerstones. Learning at LHS comprises four distinct stages: Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express, each aiming to boost girls’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth.
After-class activities range from Athletics and Art to Ballet and Choir, further engaging girls in various areas of their interest. In Year 3, they also have the opportunity to take part in a School Sleepover, experiencing in this way what it feels like to stay away from home whilst enjoying a familiar setting. [2]

Although Open Days take place throughout the year, the specific Junior Department Open Morning is held in the Spring Term. During the event, you and your child will meet senior staff members and current pupils, as well as tour facilities.

Leicester High School for Girls 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
If you wish your child to be considered for Year 3 entry, you should complete a registration form and return it to the school together with an £85 fee. Copies of your child’s passport and birth certificate should also be submitted.
There is no deadline for registrations, however, as classes do get full pretty quickly, offers are made on a first come, first served basis.
Assessments for entry into the Junior School cover English and Maths. On the day, your daughter will spend time in the playground with peers whilst her social skills are observed. Reports from her current school will also be requested.
Results are made known typically within one week. If you’re offered a place, you will be expected to sign a Parent Contract and pay a £250 deposit to secure your daughter’s place.
