Leehurst Swan School is a co-educational independent day school in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Founded in 1914, the school owns a purpose built performing arts centre and a large area of land, containing an underground reservoir.
Pupils in Year 7 follow a broad curriculum consisting of English, mathematics, science, art, design technology, performing arts, MFL, geography, history, IT, religious studies and PE & games. Within the extra-curricular programme, they take part in a wide range of activities such as fencing, cooking, gym and tennis.
In a recent ISI inspection, Leehurst Swan achieved the highest grade of Excellent in all areas. Open Days are normally held three times per year and provide families with an informal opportunity to look around the school and chat with the Headmaster, staff and current pupils. To register, please contact the Admissions Team.

Leehurst Swan School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Admission to the Senior School is subject to performance in the Entrance Examination, a report from your child’s current school and an interview.
To register for entry, you should complete a Registration Form and return it to the school together with the fee of £50.
The Entrance Examination, consisting of papers which assess your child’s skills in 3 areas, will take place on a Friday in January. Your child will also be invited for an interview within two weeks of the Examination.
Leehurst Swan School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Non means-tested Scholarships are available for Year 7 entry. Your child may be considered for an Academic, Sport, Music or Art Scholarship.
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination. Sport Scholarships are offered following trials testing a variety of skills; Music Scholarships are awarded on the basis of audition and sight reading, whilst Art Scholarship candidates are assessed on the grounds of examination and portfolio.
Each scholarship carries a value of 30% of fees and is valid throughout your child’s time in the Senior School.
One 100% means-tested bursary per year group is available for pupils whose parents require financial assistance. The bursary may be divided amongst more than one pupil, in cases when there’s more than one who qualifies (determined on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination).
The application for a bursary requires that you complete declarations of income forms, which can be obtained from the Bursar. These must be returned on, or before, the day of Entrance examinations.

The Leehurst Swan School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following tests:
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
There will also be a Science Paper.
