Introduction

Latymer Upper School is a co-ed independent school in Hammersmith, London. Highly selective, it dates back to 1624 and is among the country’s leading schools in terms of GCSE and A level results, boasting one of the highest Oxford and Cambridge acceptance rates nationally. [1]

The thriving academic programme in the Sixth Form inspires strong outcomes across a range of disciplines, including economics, engineering, humanities, Mandarin, politics and science. There are also a number of elective courses which further enrich the educational experience, including Anthropology, Global Warming Solutions and Beatles to Brexit. [2]

The co-curricular programme features an abundance of activities that students enthusiastically engage in, maximising their social skills in the process. Popular clubs include orchestra, Femsoc, jazz band, Film Club and music technology, while LAMDA, 3D art, life drawing and play-writing cater for students with enhanced creative abilities. [3]

In line with its founder’s vision to provide accessible yet competitive education, Latymer Upper accommodates inclusivity and a strong ethos that centres on excellence. The comprehensive pastoral care provision ensures this outcome through dedicated effort, underpinning a vibrant community that mirrors the increasingly diverse world of work and life altogether.
