Introduction
Lancing College is an independent boarding and day school in West Sussex, east of Worthing near the village of Lancing. Its Prep School, Hove, is located approximately eight miles further, occupying seven acres in the heart of Hove. [1] [2]
The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects, aimed to equip pupils with academic and non-academic skills in the areas of English, mathematics, science, RS, art & DT, games & PE, IT, music, French, PSHE, geography and history.
The broad programme of co-curricular activities encompasses a wide range of pursuits, including dance, music, chess, choir, ICT, cricket, drama, football, cooking, life skills, sailing and green science. Pupils’ overall well-being is further invested in through numerous sporting opportunities, including squash, tennis, swimming, athletics and golf.

The Spring Open Morning consists of a talk by the Headmistress and a tour of the school, typically concluding with refreshments. Spots for the event can be booked via the Admissions Office.
Lancing Prep Hove 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
To formally start the admissions process for Year 3 entry, you will be asked to complete a registration form and return it to the Registrar with a payment of a £95 non-refundable fee.
On the basis of performance in Maths and English assessments and a satisfactory reference from your child’s current teacher, they may receive an offer. Places are confirmed with a payment of a £600 deposit. The Acceptance form, signed by both parents, should also be submitted.

Scholarships and bursaries are not available to Year 3 applicants.

The Lancing Prep Hove 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
