Kirkham Grammar School is a selective co-educational independent school in Kirkham, Lancashire. Founded in 1549, its roots can be traced back to the chantry school attached to St Michael’s Church in the 13th century. The annual whole school Open Afternoon is set in September. It includes a pupil-led tour of the campus and a meeting with the Headmaster, current pupils and staff. Kirkham Grammar School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
To apply for Year 7 entry, you will be requested to complete a Registration Form and pay the appropriate Registration Fee. You will then be sent details of the date and time of the Entrance Examinations, together with relevant information about the tests and criteria relating to Scholarships and Bursaries.
The examinations are usually set in February or at other times in the year if there are places available. The admissions process also takes into account current-school reports and there is an interview as well.
The offer of a place subject to your child’s successful performance in the examinations and interviews, as well as a positive school report. Offers will be sent out within a week of the assessments.
In exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Headmaster, upon passing equivalent examinations and being admitted to another independent school, your child may be offered a place at Kirkham Grammar School without having to take the Entrance Examinations.
