Introduction

 

Kingham Hill School is a co-ed independent day and boarding school located near the village of Kingham in Oxfordshire. Founded in 1886, it occupies buildings designed by the architect William Howard Seth-Smith. Kingham Hill recently ranked first in The Telegraph ‘Top Small Independent Schools’ list for best A-Level results. 

 

In Year 7, pupils study English, mathematics, science, MFL, geography, history, Latin, physical education, music, theology, drama, digital literacy and design & technology.

 

Enhancing the all-round development of its pupils, the school offers a broad co-curricular programme, including sailing, cooking, farm club, mountain biking, the Combined Cadet Force, and community volunteering.

Open Mornings offer families the opportunity to meet the teaching staff, take a pupil-led tour of the campus and learn more about the overall provision. Booking is made via an online form.

Kingham Hill School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions                   

 

In the initial stage of the admissions process, you should complete a registration form and return it to the admissions office along with a £105 non-returnable fee. Your child will then be invited to the school to attend an assessment and informal interview with the Head.

 

If a place is offered, you should accept it by signing an acceptance form and paying a deposit: £700 for day pupils and £1000 for boarders. Please note that your child’s results will be communicated via email.

 

Kingham Hill School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

 

At 11+, the school offers Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships. They typically don’t exceed 10% of fees, with the exception of the Headmaster’s (Academic) Scholarship, which is valued at 25% of annual fees. 

 

The Kingham Hill Trust offers a limited number of bursaries each year to pupils from low-income families. These are means-tested and cover a maximum of 50% of fees. In cases of particular need, the school may suggest other grant making trusts that can offer additional financial support.
