Kimbolton School is a co-ed independent day and boarding school which occupies the magnificent Kimbolton Castle in Cambridgeshire. There are approximately 300 pupils in the Preparatory School, split across four houses that are named after families who owned the castle. 
The curriculum is designed to provide pupils with a strong foundation before they proceed onto their Senior Years. Besides boosting pupils’ skills in the areas of numeracy and literacy, the school also provides them with top-quality teaching for art, DT, computers, geography, history, music, PE, PSHE, RE and science.

Kimbolton School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
In order for your child to be considered for Year 3 entry, they need to be registered with the school first. The registration process includes a payment of a £100 non-refundable fee.
The entrance examination will test your child’s skills in three areas of the curriculum. Subject to their successful performance, they may be offered a place. Offers are sent out in February, to be accepted with a payment of a deposit by the deadline in March.
Kimbolton School 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
The school offers Music exhibitions to pupils applying for Prep School entry. These are awarded to applicants who pass exams at Grade 5 or above with a merit or distinction. Exhibitions may be applied for more than one instrument. Please reach out to the school for more details.

The Kimbolton School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning test measures their ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
