Kimbolton School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are awarded purely on merit and are not means-tested. They are nominal in value and cover a percentage of the tuition fee. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster and may be supplemented by a bursary if considered necessary.
Academic scholarships are based on your child’s performance in the entrance examination. The school also offers Music scholarships, Art and Design scholarships, and Games and Leadership scholarships.
Scholarships are applied for the entirety of your child’s time at Kimbolton School, subject to satisfactory progress and performance. They are reviewed annually and can be removed if circumstances require.
Bursaries may cover up to 100% on tuition fees, depending on the financial or other pertinent circumstances of applicants.
To apply for a bursary, you will need to complete a questionnaire about your circumstances which covers areas such as your income, the size of your family, your savings and investments and any special circumstances. If you accept a bursary, you inherently agree to repeat this questionnaire and assessment process each year, thus if your circumstances change, the level of support may increase/decrease.
Note that the school will only consider bursary applications by parents/guardians of registered children. For more information, please visit the school’s website.

Why do some of the recommendations above show me grammar school papers?
The main difference between independent and grammar school papers is the question format. Independent schools usually assess with standard format questions, which means students need to write out full answers. Grammar schools usually use multiple-choice format questions.
Whilst Kimbolton School is an independent school, they actually use the grammar school (multiple-choice) format for some of their exams, which is why they are included in the recommendations above.
Our practice tests aim to show what sort of questions were included in Kimbolton School 11+ past papers.
