Introduction

Kew House School is an independent co-educational school located near the River Thames by Kew Bridge, in the Brentford area.

Kew House is one of three schools belonging to the Gardener Schools Group. Due to the enthusiastic feedback from preparatory school parents, in 2013, a co-educational secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 18 years was opened.

KHS is noted for retaining traditional values in accordance with The Gardener Group’s preparatory schools, whilst simultaneously promoting pioneering and modern ideas. In Years 7-8, each student is offered a wide range of core subjects, including Spanish, design and technology, music, food technology and art, along with the humanities, maths, English and science. Students also study French, Latin and German.

The wide range of subjects is enriched by the “Individuals in Society” (IS) course, which focuses on emotional, practical, and intellectual personal development.

The use of Information Technology is of great importance within the school. PCs, Apple Macs, and Interactive White Boards are available to students throughout, as technology is used across the curriculum to enhance every subject. The Digital Curriculum is a core component of Kew House students’ education.

Facilities include a theatre space, a large Music department with instrumental practice rooms, several fully equipped modern science laboratories, a spacious Art room on the top floor, a modern Design Technology lab, two libraries and Computing suites.

The school provides parents with their own spot, the Parent Cafe, where they can relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and use the wifi.

Sporting locations include a Sports Club for various grass sports, a Boat House for Rowing on the Thames, as well as Tennis and Netball courts and a Swimming pool near the school buildings.
