The school has an impressive and diverse range of clubs and societies, with over 100 specialising in all areas of the curriculum as well as in other fields such as film-making, Zumba dance, horse riding, debating, astronomy, cake-making, Eco Club and Model United Nations.

Kent College, Pembury, 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

If you wish your daughter to join Kent College, you should complete and return the Application Form (available on the school’s website) together with a non-refundable registration fee of £150.

Application does not guarantee an offer of a place, but places your daughter on the registration list and ensures that you are informed about entrance examinations at the appropriate time.

If possible, your daughter will be invited to spend a Taster Day at Kent College. During this event, she will take part in lessons and activities to get a taste of life on campus.

A report and reference from her current school will be requested prior to the entrance exam. Following the exam, she will participate in a group interview and partake in a range of activities designed to demonstrate her style of learning.

Subject to successful performance in all three activities, an offer of a place will be made (within two weeks of the entrance exam). To formally accept an offer of a place, you will need to complete an Acceptance Form, Parent Contract and pay a deposit. In this way, your daughter’s place at the College will be secured.

Kent College, Pembury, 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries

Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of the entrance examinations and parents will be informed of scholarship awards by the end of the Autumn Term. Art, Drama, Dance, Music and Sport Scholarship applicants will be assessed on separate days (in November).

Scholarships usually cover 10% of net day fees and are awarded to pupils demonstrating a particularly high standard of achievement or potential regardless of financial need. They are applied for the duration of a girl’s time at Kent College, subject to her satisfactory performance and commitment.

Bursary support may be awarded in addition to a scholarship. In general, bursaries are offered if parents can demonstrate, through a means-testing procedure, that they can’t send their daughter to Kent College due to limited financial means. For more information about scholarships and bursaries, please consult the school’s website.
