Kensington Park School is a new independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11-18, located in the heart of London.
The Sixth Form opened in September 2017 and is located opposite the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. The Lower School (ages 11-16), opened its doors to pupils in September 2018 and is just around the corner from both Queensway and Bayswater tube stops.
Offering the best boarding facilities in London, the school provides accommodation to pupils from Year 10 upwards.
This small, friendly school provides a modern curriculum that promotes intellectual curiosity and creativity whilst nurturing a love of independent learning.
Pupils joining Year 7 and Year 9 take GCSE in Year 11. From entry at either Year 7 or Year 9, pupils take lessons in English, maths, the sciences, modern foreign languages (including Mandarin Chinese), geography, history, classical civilisation and religious studies as well as art, design & technology, computing, PE, drama and music.
The pastoral care is central to the school’s ethos, enabling students to fulfill their potential through a positive approach to healthy living.
In Years 7 and 8, the school provides a horizontal tutor system. Tutors remain with their tutees for the first two years of their time at KPS. This allows a strong relationship to develop with both pupils and parents. Aside from building meaningful professional relationships with parents by sending a weekly email with a brief review of the week, tutors also provide advice on time management as pupils access co-curricular activities.
With help from tutors, pupils have the opportunity to develop interests and to try a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting options.
Co-curriculum activities include Board Games Club, Computer Programming, Debating Society, Drama Club, Film-making/Animation, Medical/Biomedical Club, Mathematics Olympiad, Music Club and many more.
The variety of co-curricular activities provides opportunities to develop personal growth, teamwork and leadership.

The 11+ Entrance Examination consists of English, maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers.
The English paper aims to evaluate the child’s reading, comprehension and writing skills.
The maths paper is designed to examine the child’s skills in algebra, problem-solving and arithmetic.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning paper is designed to test the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
The papers mainly consist of standard format questions.
Besides examinations, the school also relies on interviews in the form of an informal chat with the Head or a different senior member of staff.
In order to successfully prepare your child for the entrance exams, we strongly suggest that you make use of our practice tests. They offer familiarisation with the exam format and question types that will be encountered on the big day.
Since your child may feel intimidated about sitting the 11+ exam, we highly recommend that you work with them to identify any weaker areas that require additional work. Our practice tests will help you distinguish them very early on through a series of thoroughly researched and up to date questions.
By taking our tests under timed conditions, your child can get used to answering questions quickly and confidently, under time pressure.
Designed to be efficient and effective, our practice tests are used successfully by tens of thousands of students every year. They are available for immediate download, print and use after purchase.
