Introduction

Kensington Park School is a new independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11-18, located in the heart of London.

The Sixth Form opened in September 2017 and is located opposite the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. The Lower School (ages 11-16), opened its doors to pupils in September 2018 and is just around the corner from both Queensway and Bayswater tube stops.

Offering the best boarding facilities in London, the school provides accommodation to pupils from Year 10 upwards.

This small, friendly school provides a modern curriculum that promotes intellectual curiosity and creativity whilst nurturing a love of independent learning.

Pupils joining Year 7 and Year 9 take GCSE in Year 11. From entry at either Year 7 or Year 9, pupils take lessons in English, maths, the sciences, modern foreign languages (including Mandarin Chinese), geography, history, classical civilisation and religious studies as well as art, design & technology, computing, PE, drama and music.

The pastoral care is central to the school’s ethos, enabling students to fulfill their potential through a positive approach to healthy living.

In Years 7 and 8, the school provides a horizontal tutor system. Tutors remain with their tutees for the first two years of their time at KPS. This allows a strong relationship to develop with both pupils and parents. Aside from building meaningful professional relationships with parents by sending a weekly email with a brief review of the week, tutors also provide advice on time management as pupils access co-curricular activities.

With help from tutors, pupils have the opportunity to develop interests and to try a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting options.

Co-curriculum activities include Board Games Club, Computer Programming, Debating Society, Drama Club, Film-making/Animation, Medical/Biomedical Club, Mathematics Olympiad, Music Club and many more.

The variety of co-curricular activities provides opportunities to develop personal growth, teamwork and leadership.
